Questions

Is the game review really free?

Yes. Stockfish runs in your own browser, so a review costs us nothing and there is no daily limit and no account.

How do I review a chess.com game?

Type your chess.com username and pick a game from the list, or open the game on chess.com, choose Share, then PGN, copy it, and paste it here.

Can I review games from lichess or over-the-board games?

Yes. Paste the PGN of any standard chess game. Clock times and the opening name are read from the PGN when it has them.

How is accuracy calculated?

Each move is scored by how much winning chance it gave away, using the lichess win-percentage formula. Accuracy is the lichess accuracy curve over the average loss for each side, from 0 to 100.

What counts as a blunder, a mistake or an inaccuracy?

A move that gives away 30 or more points of winning chance is a blunder, 20 or more a mistake, and 10 or more an inaccuracy. A miss is a move that fails to punish the opponent’s mistake.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Phones run a quicker pass; laptops and desktops can switch to a deeper one. Both review every move.
